Proving document ownership with Global ID finger vein biometrics

Global ID has developed an innovative protocol that reliably verifies the legitimate owner of a certified document or physical asset (such as a diploma) without relying on weak visual inspections or conventional identity comparisons.

During issuance, the asset is securely linked to its owner using a lightweight token (such as an RFID/NFC chip). Verification is then performed by simultaneously scanning both the document (or object) and the individual using a public or private terminal.

The key differentiator lies in Global ID’s finger vein biometric technology, powered by our F1 scanner, which uses dual cameras to capture the finger’s unique vein patterns. Compared with fingerprints, facial recognition, or voice recognition, finger vein biometrics are significantly more resistant to theft, spoofing, and identity fraud, providing stronger real-world security.

Beyond instant identity verification, the protocol can also grant secure access to digital services. Once ownership has been confirmed, the legitimate holder can access an online repository to retrieve information and services associated with the document or asset.

The architecture protects user privacy through strong encryption and ensures that biometric data cannot be reconstructed without the secure token, enabling large-scale deployments using cost-effective hardware components.
